Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist


The Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day invoicing and collection activities for our company. This position requires a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with all members of the accounting team, procurement team, inside sales representatives and Management.   • Reconcile and review the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and posted properly
  • Perform collection activities and calls to ensure cash collections and the Accounts Receivable aging are optimized
  • Enter and post daily lockbox checks to customer accounts with 100% accuracy
  • Take ownership of Accounts Receivable email, responding to issues and inquiries within 24 hours
  • Verify discrepancies on customer accounts and resolve billing issues
  • Set up and maintain customer payment plans
  • Ability to summarize collections for the week and month in an excel spreadsheet
  • Accurately build new and maintain existing customers in our Accounting System
  • Maintain accurate and detailed notes on customer accounts
  • Invoicing customers
  • Filing


  • 3 years’ Accounts Receivable and Collections experience
  • You’re dependable, punctual and like being part of a team
  • You have a knack for speaking with customers and you are not afraid to pick up the phone
  • Attention to detail is in your DNA
  • 10-key by touch
  • Strong excel stills – must be able to update and modify formulas and pivot tables
  • You are not just a processor, you have the ability to solve problems and ask questions when something doesn’t look right
  • Ability to stay on task and not get distracted by others around you
  • Accounts Payable experience is a plus
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience is a plus
